Husbands and Sons


Manchester School of Theatre.

Husbands & Sons interweaves three of D H Lawrence’s greatest dramas, and plays them simultaneously. The space I designed was in the round, allowing audiences to observe action across three households continuously. I designed the set, costumes and props to evoke the contrast between the warmth of the characters’ relationships with the bleak undertones of mining communities.
